What's new in CADAM Drafting Version 5-6 Release 2013
The following changes have been made to the CADAM Drafting product since the Version 5-6 Release 2012 base release.
New Product - CADAM Drafting View
CADAM Drafting View was released on May 19, 2011. This is a 'view only' version of CADAM Drafting designed for those users who only need to view and print CADAM Drafting drawings. See http://www.cadam.com/ccd_products_view.htm for more information.
End of Support for IBM License Use Management (LUM)
IBM's License Use Management (LUM) tool will reach End of Support on December 31, 2013. In light of this, LUM is no longer supported as a licensing mechanism beginning with the CATIA V5-6 R2013 release. This includes CADAM Drafting V5-6 R2013. Customers currently using LUM are required to migrate to Dassault Systemes License Server (DSLS) when installing any new release or should consider migrating during 2013 if continuing to use V5R21 or V5-6 R2012. For more information, please see http://www.cadam.com/DSLSLicenseMigration.htm.
F6 for Indicate
An indicate can now be triggered by pressing F6.
CADAM Drawings can now be exported in SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) format. SVG can be viewed in most browsers and edited in many graphics and illustration products. This new function can be accessed using File -> Export.
Double buffering is a display technique that can be used to improve display performance. This new option is accessed through Options -> Device Settings. Note that CADAM Drafting must be restarted for this option to take effect.
FK Point Change
Secondary Grid (Added in SP2)
Menu option /BRIGHT/ can be used to display a secondary grid. A secondary grid brightens certain grid points based on a spacing factor defined by the user. For example, if the user defines a secondary grid spacing of '5', every fifth grid point will display with a higher intensity.
AutoCAD 2013 Support (Added in SP3)
AutoCAD 2013 format for DXF/DWG input and output is now supported.
Multi-leader Support (Added in SP3)
Multi-leaders can now be imported into CADAM Drafting. They are imported as individual arrows and linear splines.
Tracing a Bus to a Sheet Extension Component
CADEX has been modified to allow tracing a bus to a sheet extension component.
