What's new in CADAM Drafting Version 5 Release 9

The following changes have been made to the CADAM Drafting product since the Version 5 Release 8 base release.

System Changes

Searchable documentation (Windows only)

A searchable version of the documentation is now provided with the product.  This version is launched by selecting Contents from the Help menu.  This documentation can also be accessed directly by double-clicking on the CCDSearchableDoc.chm file in the CCD_ROOT\En_US\Help folder or by placing a shortcut to this file on the desktop.

Cut/Copy/Paste between sessions (Windows only) 

Cut/Copy/Paste operations can now be performed between CADAM Drafting sessions.

Windows XP support  (Windows only)

Windows XP is supported for use with CADAM Drafting for V5, beginning with V5R8.

Windows 95 support removed (Windows only)

CADAM Drafting for V5 no longer supports Windows 95 as of V5R8.

LUM 4.6.4 support 

LUM 4.6.4 is now supported for use with CADAM Drafting.  Note that this release of LUM is required for use with Windows XP.

FK Line Change

Implicit points when creating PT-PT lines 

When selecting existing lines to create a PT-PT line, CADAM Drafting now determines whether the selection was closest to an endpoint or a midpoint of the existing lines.  The closest of these points will be used as the defined endpoint of the newly created line.


EFT Changes

User definable line weight mapping

The user can now specify the line width to be used in creating the DXF/DWG file when mapping heavy, medium and light lineweights.  These values can be specified interactively on the parameters panel or in the config file using the OMAP_HEAVY, OMAP_MEDIUM, and OMAP_LIGHT keywords.

NC lines placed on a separate layer 

NC lines are now placed on a separate layer when exported to DXF/DWG.


Hardcopy Change

Plot data not needed when batch plotting

When batch plotting, it is no longer necessary for plot data to be defined in the model(s) to be plotted.  If plot data is not present, a Window ALL will be performed.  The resulting extents will be used for plotting the model.
